I sent my xbox to microsoft and I waited at least five days until they recieve it. Two days after they recieve it I checked the status online and it says they’d shipping it back to me. Anybody what they did to fix my xbox in those two days or did they just replace it?

It’s most likely that MS just gave you a replacement or refurbished 360. If you wrote down your serial number, then you can compare them and see if it’s different.

Well I just went through the exact same thing. I got the RROD, and sent it in , a week later the status changed to repaired or replaced and shipped back to customer. I got it back today and they replaced it with a refirbished one that was 6 months older than the one i sent in :S
Im pretty sure what they are doing is sending us back the ones that were sent in first and have finally been repaired. Im not too happy about getting a console thats older by 6 months but as long as it works I guess its ok, dont really have a choice

When i got mine, it said on the report that they replaced the motherboard, and the DVD drive.
It is definately the same console, as i slapped a sticker on mine before i shipped it, and it was still there when i got it back.

Alot of problems with the Xbox can be fixed yourself without even opening the case! Free information can be found here for the repair of your xbox this is how I was able to fix my own Xbox without shipping to Microsoft!
