I have owned my Xbox 360 for over a year now, and I just got this problem today. I only play my Xbox about once a week for about 30 mins. I don’t see how this could have happened. How do I fix it? Thanks.

There is no way to fix it. You need to contact Microsoft and send it in to them. They should replace it free of charge. From what I know the store will not take it back.

Call Microsoft’s support line (1-800-4MY-XBOX in the US)… they’ll fix it or replace it for free.

Well the only way to fix it is to send it to the xbox repair center. The phone number is 1-800-4MY-XBOX. After that you just listen to the machine, answer the questions then you are hooked up with someone and you just tell him the problem with your xbox which would be the red ring of death and they should tell you either to send your xbox in a box or they will send a box so you can put it in but either way you send your xbox and then a month or 2 you get a new one back.

there is a way to fix it. although i wouldn’t recommend trying to do so yourself unless your good with electronics.
they fix it by re-soldering a couple of the wires in the console.

Hi,
It depends on what problem you have:
1: red light is scaler chip error send it in!
2 red light is overheating and to fix this you can hoover all the dust out and this may well help to fix it.
3 red lights is general hardware failure and this can be fixed by stopping the build up of heat on the CPU and the GPU.
4 red lights is the AV cable and all you need to do is make sure it is plugged in correctly.
Hope this helps!
