How do you fix XBOX 360 system error E68?

I recently removed the hard drive that was functioning fine. I brought it to a friend’s house and we were playing my Madden 08 franchise. While trying to save, it repeatedly said save failed. This was very aggravating and then the E68 error appeared. Since then, my hard drive has not worked and I have tried nearly all of the fixes on YouTube. How can you fix the Xbox 360 Red Ring of Death without telling Microsoft about it?

I heard if you send your game system to Microsoft it takes about a month to get it back. Sometimes they don’t even fix it good. Please help me find out! THANK-YOU!

What does microsoft do to your xbox 360 when they fix it?
